All of my life I’ve had a passion for helping others be healthy and not suffer or be limited by their weight. This led me to study nutrition and to be come a registered dietitian-nutritionist. I wanted to help people find their best health and live their best life by eating well using the power of nutrition.

I went through my own difficult relationship with food, which started in college and lasted for 12 years after. I was emotionally overeating and bingeing and it first started as a response to stress and a way to look for comfort. At the same time, I was over-exercising because I was so afraid of weight gain. It became this vicious cycle of overeating and over-exercising that really overtook my life. Over time it became a deeply ingrained habit, so even when life wasn’t stressful anymore, I was still doing those behaviors. It was exhausting and had negative impacts in every area of my life.


I ended up going to eating disorder treatment, but I didn’t feel like I fit in or belonged there, and I was still leaving therapy each day and going home and overeating at night and feeling out of control with food because that was so much my “normal”.  The “real me” didn’t want to do it, but it was just this deeply ingrained compulsive habit that I could not resist or willpower my way out of. I made the decision to leave therapy because it wasn’t resonating with me and didn’t feel like the right fit, but I was very ready and committed to finally transforming my relationship with food. And I went on my own journey of discovery of how to do that for myself. Over 5 years of researching, reading and doing lots of self-help programs, I finally found freedom, and my relationship with food became peaceful, balanced, in control, and easy.

It became evident to me that I had some wisdom to share and wanted to use my personal life experience combined with my education and professional skills in nutrition and coaching to help women break-free from the habit of emotional eating and also give them the support and tools to achieve lasting weight loss-  by starting on the inside, and first addressing the mental and emotional habits driving their relationship with food. Basically, weight loss from the inside-out.
