Feel Peaceful and In Control around Food
Many women who have struggled with food and weight much of their lives feel hopeless, and think it’s just their lot in life. But that’s just a belief, it’s not a fact.
Freedom is absolutely possible because the food and weight struggle is a habit, and all habits can be transformed. Our brain is like plastic - it's moldable and we can reteach our brain out of habits and mold it to do what we truly want.
This means that things that feel difficult, can become easy, such as feeling in control of your eating can be easy. And things that feel too easy right now, like overeating and feeling out of control around food, can become the difficult thing that you easily just don’t do.
No person was born into the world as a compulsive overeater, so bingeing and emotional overeating are not our natural design. They are a conditioned habit that we develop over time.
We teach our brains to want to do the behavior. And we can then also unteach our brains to not want to do the behavior.
Habits are simply automatic programs we teach our brain to run by repetition of doing a behavior. And just like we can put different software programs on a computer, we can also change all our own programs, so that we are programmed to feel peace and freedom with food.
The reason we can change our brain and unlearn negative habits like chronic overeating behavior is the word “neuroplasticity”, which just means our brains can be re-taught and re-modeled so that we can create new habits and break old habits and become new & better versions of ourselves as many times as we want in life.
This means you can be free of binge & emotional eating forever and keep weight off permanently too, no matter how long you have struggled, without suffering through diets for the rest of your life.
When your brain has literally changed by reteaching it how to be peaceful around food, self-sabotage is never again a worry because your brain has literally physically changed.
Being in control and feeling peaceful around food, and having “food just be food”, is just who you are. You go back to the way you were born into this world, before your relationship with food was affected by negative influences from your environment.
So back to neuroplasticity, in the 90s is when they fully discovered it. Prior to that, most believed our brain was “fixed” from birth, and that our brain was in charge of us and we couldn’t do anything about it. But with this discovery, they learned that we can actually choose to be in charge of our brain and we can teach it how we want to to think and what we want it to do.
This means that old negative habits of thinking, of feeling, and of behaving can be removed and replaced with new positive habits that actually serve you.
So imagine instead of automatically going to food because of urges, or cravings or emotions it felt unnatural to do so, such as, you just don’t have a desire to overeat food or use food to distract from emotions.
When you reteach the brain how to be in control and peaceful around food, you can easily eat for health and nourishment in connection with your body, and those old emotional overeating behaviors around food are just gone, because the brain has literally changed and does not tell you to do them anymore
And making this sort of internal transformation and re-teaching your brain new habits is the lasting fix that allows you to not only lose weight naturally without dieting, but it also allows you to keep the weight off much more easily long term.
In the dieting industry they teach you weight loss by telling you to change your environment, such as follow a specific meal plan, keep foods out of the house, track or count things, eat this food and not that food, only eat this much, make your stomach smaller so you can’t eat as much, take this pill to suppress your appetite, etc.
And unfortunately this really fails people and destroys a person’s relationship with food and a person’s connection to their body, so that they no longer know how to naturally regulate their eating behavior or body weight.
And another unfortunate thing is, the forced food restriction that dieting teaches actually backfires and causes a person’s brain to over-desire food, which leads to much more overeating and feeling out of control around food.
So part of re-training the brain out of compulsive overeating is to end dieting behaviors and diet “thinking”. This is necessary to become, what I call, internally controlled with food. With internal control you can be around all food and make a choice to eat it, or not eat it, and it feels easy and natural to make the best choice that you truly desire.
Also with internal control you are connected to your body and it becomes your #1 tool and guide for weight management. Our body is an amazing “machine” that knows how to be at a natural healthy weight when we can work in partnership with it, instead of fighting with it or trying to force it to do something like in dieting.
If you struggle with food and weight, freedom is absolutely possible when you learn how to be in charge of your brain, instead of your brain being in charge of you. It is a more involved process than just going on the next fad diet, but if you want real change and want to live your life peacefully and optimally by being free from the overeating struggle, then this is the way to go. And my Food Freedom-Body Bliss program is specifically designed to help you do this.
